“Nothing” To-Do!

Summertime is finally here! But, does summertime turn into a cluster of frustration due to not having any activities to do? Here is a list of cheap or FREE activities to do with your family to create some summer fun!

FREE ACTIVITIES

  • Visit local parks or walkways
    • Play in Splash pad in Downtown Evansville
    • Visit Mickey’s Kingdom (new children’s playground next to the Evansville Museum)
  • June 1st and June 2nd offer FREE fishing days (no fishing license required)!
  • Visit public library! (Participate in summer reading programs and earn free stuff!)
  • Shriner’s Fest and Air Show June 20-23 at the Waterfront in Downtown Evansville
  • Posey County Fair July 15-20
  • Vanderburgh County Fair July 22-27
  • Walk around the Eastland Mall (plus, let the kids play on the indoor play area inside)
  • Evansville Museum offers free admission the 1st Friday of each month from 11am-8pm
  • Chick-Fil-A Cow day! (Dress like a cow and receive a free entrée!)
  • Free bowling through the summer Kids Free Bowling program at Showplace Family Entertainment Center! (Children 12 and under receive one free game of bowling per day during the summer, for more information visit www.kidsbowlfree.com)

INEXPENSIVE ACTIVITIES

  • Showplace Cinema’s $1 movie mornings! (Visit www.showplacecinemas.com for the full schedule)
  • CMOE ($8 per person 18 months or older)
  • Visit the Mesker Park Zoo! (Children 2 and under FREE, ages 3-12 $6.50, ages 13 and older $7.50, Vanderburgh County residents receive a $1 discount!)
  • Evansville Otter’s baseball game $2 Tuesday’s! (Each ticket is only $2 and popcorn is $2!)
  • Burdette Park Aquatic Center Family Night Friday from 3pm-7pm ($5 per person)
    • Wednesdays are also $5 per person for the entire day
